SHORT FILMThe Ask
Create a 5-minute short film developed from an original script and storyboard, following strict production guidelines: three locations, three scenes, two main characters, and a maximum of 40 shots. This required writing a properly formatted script, building a complete storyboard, defining shot choices and camera movements, and producing a final film with strong visual storytelling, smooth narrative flow, and high technical quality.
The Idea
Our short film, Not Yet, Darling, plays with themes of alternate realities and the poetry of choice, following Elliot, a burnt-out man who accidentally ends up in a surreal version of heaven run by a sarcastic, pajama-wearing God. As the director and main editor, I shaped the film’s comedic-philosophical tone and oversaw how performance, pacing, and visual rhythm came together on screen. I also created the full storyboard using AI-generated imagery for each shot, orchestrating camera movements and framing, and I formatted the final script to align the written vision with the on-screen execution. The film combines dry humor, existential reflection, and a sharp visual style to deliver a story about fate, timing, and the often-absurd ways the universe answers our questions.
